Our History
ASTM was developing industry standards in the early 1950s and, recognizing Cleveland City Forge’s position as a quality leader, worked closely with the company in establishing the standards for clevis and turnbuckle forgings. Those standards remain in place today. As a major supplier of forged structural fasteners to both the domestic and international construction industry, the Cleveland facility today provides not just clevises and turnbuckles, (with fittings) but, eye nuts, eye bolts, threaded and upset rod, clevis pins, pad eyes and yokes. These are domestically produced from the finest quality domestic steel and stainless steel alloys. Structural fasteners produced at the Cleveland facility are an essential part of such recent projects as the Boston Tunnel, Cleveland’s Jacob’s Field and airport expansions in New York, Cleveland and Detroit. Internationally, Cleveland City Forge structural fasteners have been specified in nuclear power plants in China and Japan, the new Convention Center in Toronto and the Vancouver Airport. |
